Why become a member?
Faith in Christ brings restored relationship with the Father through the finished work of the cross and resurrection, but it also restores our relationship with others. The outward sign of this reality is through the waters of Christian baptism. This relational sign means that we are family members with God’s universal church throughout time and across cultures.
Practically, a worshiping community is most relationally healthy when members know what is expected of them and when they have committed themselves to each other. Our membership class clarifies relationship with Christ through faith, relationship with one another in grace, and a common role in Jesus’ mission. Membership is not an act of salvation, but an important practice of kingdom living.
