The Rev. Ethan Carlson
Rector
Ethan has served as Rector (Senior Pastor) of Redeemer since 2022. Before moving to Pittsburgh, he lived in Rwanda and led the English Service at the Anglican Church of Rwanda’s national cathedral, Holy Trinity. He also served as Executive Director of Rwanda Ministry Partners from 2018 to 2022 and is still actively involved on the board.
Pastor Ethan and his wife (Natasha) are originally from Minnesota, then spent several years in Chicago working in education and serving at their local church before moving overseas. They were sent as missioners to Rwanda at the invitation of the Anglican Church of Rwanda and Kigali International Community School, where Ethan was the university guidance counselor and Natasha taught elementary school. Their first child was born in Rwanda and the second in Pennsylvania.
Father Ethan was brought up in the Evangelical Free and Covenant Church and later fell in love with the Anglican tradition while in seminary. (He’s always happy to share about his faith journey and love for the historic Church, sacraments, and liturgy with anyone interested!). His ordination process began at his local parish near Chicago, and he was then ordained a deacon in Kigali Diocese and as a priest in Gasabo Diocese. He holds degrees in business (social entrepreneurship), intercultural studies and theology from Trinity International University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
The Carlsons live in Bellevue and love opening their home to parishioners, friends, and neighbors. In his time off, you’ll find Ethan in his garden with a podcast, exploring new restaurants, outside with family, cooking and pickling food, or enjoying whatever new hobby he has for that season.

Laura Wicker
Deacon Laura has served as Deacon at Redeemer since 2023 and was ordained since 1999. She was trained at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge. She is married to Stewart Wicker, President and Mission Director of the Society of Anglican Missionaries and Senders. Prior to living in Pennsylvania, Stewart and Laura served as missionaries in Honduras. They have three adult children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in- law, and three granddaughters. Laura also serves as deacon at Church of the Savior, Ambridge. In her spare time Laura enjoys biking, quilting, and knitting. |

Hannah Broadway
Parish Administrator Hannah has served as the Parish Administrator since 2023 and has been attending Redeemer since 2021. She has a diverse background in communication, marketing, and higher education, with a Masters in Counseling from Geneva College. Hannah also works as a Licensed Professional Counselor part-time. Hannah and her husband welcomed a new baby to their family in the fall of 2023 so she doesn't quite remember what her hobbies used to be, but she loves taking walks and checking out new coffee shops.
